Engineering/Producing

Title: Anchors and Stones EP

Credits: Chelsey Unrau (Vocals), Tim Tkachyk (Producer, Engineer, Musician), Kody Iverson (Additional Engineering/Assisting)

Project Description: Anchors and Stones is a five song EP that I produced over an ten week period as my senior project for school. The band is called Deshiko, and currently consists of myself (Drums/Guitar/Bass/Synths) and Chelsey Unrau (Vocals). I enlisted the help of Kody Iverson to handle engineering duties during the tracking of my drum, bass, and most guitar parts.

Drums were tracked in the sound stage at The Art Institute of Vancouver (AiV), taking advantage of the large ambience of that room. Most of the parts were tracked through the SSL Duality console in Ai’s Control Room 2, with a few overdubs being recorded at my home.

The goal of the project was to emulate as closely as possible the production value of a professional release. Below are some of the tracks featured on the EP:

Porcelain Skin (3:26)

I’m Not Going (5:31)

Why Do I Love You (3:18)
